ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the entire content of the work, especially the new elements it brings to the theory and practice of knowledge about the dependability of complex homo-centric Cyber-Physical-Social Systems. On this basis, it presents a vision for the future development of the concept of solving problems with the help of hybrid systems composed of two subsystems: a natural one based on cognitive expertise (human intelligence) and a cyber one resulting from the capabilities of a 'digital twin’ (artificial intelligence). A graphic futuristic model is shown, which illustrates the cognitive process carried out by both subsystems in a holistic manner, as symbolized by a pair of eyes consisting of the human eyeball and the eye-camera of the digital twin. Also, the other senses (organs and instruments) should form a coherent whole, to ensure the effective pursuit of a common goal of solving a specific problem. The rapid progress achieved in recent years in building ergonomic and reliable interfaces of the 'human brain – computer or robot’ type gives hope that this idea can be realized in practice in the not-too-far future.
