ABSTRACT

In Chapter 12 we considered finite populations and games on graphs, structures where interactions are pairwise. In this chapter we consider structured populations in more detail. We discuss the recently developed application of coalescent theory to study evolutionary dynamics on general structures. We also consider the evolution of a population involving multi-player interactions and general multi-player games, including with variable group sizes, on a general structure. We further consider important theoretical properties of structured populations, including structure coefficients. Finally, we study the situation when the population structure itself can evolve.
