ABSTRACT
Environmental biotechnology is when biotechnology is applied to and used to study the natural environment. Environmental biotechnology could also imply that one tries to harness the biological process for commercial use and exploitation. Most people still think that biotechnology is a relatively new discipline that is only recently getting a lot of attention. In modern biotechnology, human manipulation of the genes of organisms and their insertions into other organisms are used to acquire desired traits, whereas in traditional biotechnology, microorganisms were used in fermentation. Animal biotechnology is the application of scientific and engineering principles to the processing or production of materials from animals or aquatic species to provide research models and to make healthy products. Plant biotechnology is also known as green biotechnology and involves the use of environment-friendly solutions as an alternative to traditional industrial agriculture, horticulture, and animal breeding processes.
