ABSTRACT

Hotel companies are always trying to move one step ahead of the competition by creating the most comfortable room experience possible for the leisure and business travelers. Recently, Marriott International teamed up with Samsung and Legrand to create the hospitality industrial Internet of Things (IoT) hotel rooms. Managing revenues in the hotel industry is complex and dependent on the available information systems and on the characteristics of the facilities that exist on the hotels, which consist of three components such as pricing, revenue management, and product distribution. Pricing includes segmentation of customers based on their needs, characteristics, and willingness to pay.
