ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes several characteristics of closed-loop (indirect, secondary fluid) horizontal ground-source heat pump systems applied to residential and non-residential buildings, as the complex influences heat and mass transfer with the ambient air, heat transfer around buried ground-coupled heat exchangers, as well as flow regimes and convective heat transfer of thermal carrier fluids inside horizontally buried pipes.
