ABSTRACT
The United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialised agency, which was founded more than 50 years ago under the United Nations system. The UNESCO constitution, which was approved at the London Conference in November 1945, states that: “Since wars begin in the minds of men; it is in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed”. Jeddah is one of the most important cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is located in the western region of Saudi Arabia with a coastline on the Red Sea and is considered the economic and tourism capital of the kingdom. The climate of Jeddah city is always uncomfortable as it has a monsoon-type climate; this is due to the location of the city, which is near to the coast of the Red Sea. The chapter also presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book.
