ABSTRACT

Worldwide systems designed to support heritage preservation, such as UNESCO’s World Heritage nomination system, have achieved significant recognition. Research around Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the development toward Heritage BIM was required to investigate whether it would be useful for it to be employed in preparing UNESCO’s World Heritage nomination file. Employing BIM for the heritage buildings in Historic Jeddah is a new method for producing complete engineering information. Besides, Jeddah Heritage Building Information Modelling can support the conservation and maintenance management of the heritage buildings in Historic Jeddah. The Jeddah Heritage BIM can act as an interactive database in the future through developing this database, which will include all the required data for any conservation or preservation projects in Historic Jeddah.
