ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an overview of renewable energy resources and compares them with the conventional sources of energy. A history of development in the renewable energy is discussed, and incentives for the wind, solar and other sources are presented. The utility perspective and modularity for the growth of the renewable sources are also discussed in this chapter.
