When But Not Where or Where But Not When? The Non-classical World of Quantum Physics for the Electron and What It Means for Chemistry

When and where are important aspects of science itself. I start this new part of the book with the delightfully mysterious quantum world. Starting with the physics I then describe, the impact it has on the chemistry of the elements. Recently the United Nations held the International Year of the Periodic Table (IYPT) and it impacted on everyday lives of the public. I show the example of Stockport UK, and one of its IYPT frogs displayed in our town centre. From when and where as concepts I explain frequency in both time and space using audio equipment and the repetition of street lights and its houses as examples.
