ABSTRACT

Spreadsheets have become as commonplace as data analytics and decision-making calculators. In this chapter, we explore the value and importance of using Excel to construct various optimization models. We discuss how the spreadsheet modelling and analysis fit in with the problem-solving process. In this chapter, Excel models are formed for different optimization problems taken from the solved examples of Chapters 1 to 10 and then step-by-step procedures for solving these models using the Excel Solver are presented. All learning outcomes and solved examples are mapped with Bloom’s Taxonomy level (BT level) 1 to 6.
