ABSTRACT
This chapter mentions the scope of obtaining and processing data, various procedures for the designs of highways, whether for a uniform section, multiple sections, widening, hill roads, or low-cost rural roads. The design of at-grade intersections and grade separated interchanges are very complex process and need various considerations like weaving distance, etc., are to be done with the highest accuracy and simplest approach. The designs of pavements are a very specialized task and are described in the relevant chapters with straight forward approaches. For any design work, the various suitable ways may be selected either with project workspace, batch mode, or conventional text data file modes, as has been followed by the industry for long time.
