ABSTRACT

This chapter is entirely devoted to the problems of the potential fields in source-filled regions. These problems involve Poisson’s equation from Chapter 9.

In Chapter 9 the Laplacian field was defined as a field that gives zero value if it is operated upon by the Laplacian operator, ∇2. As evident from Poisson’s equation, for Poisson’s field the operation of Laplacian operator ∇2 on a field does not yield a zero value. In the case of Laplacian field, 1D, 2D, and 3D problems belonging to different coordinate systems were solved. This chapter deals only with 1D and 2D problems.
