ABSTRACT
This chapter briefly discusses different aspects of electromagnetic compatibility. These include the role of electromagnetic compatibility and the sources and types of electromagnetic interference. It discusses different types of coupling mechanisms including conductive, inductive, capacitive, and radiative couplings. It also describes EMC control plan viz. the threat characterization, breaking a coupling path, grounding and shielding, and some other measures. It also discusses the emissions suppression techniques and the susceptibility hardening.
