ABSTRACT
Motor vehicles have a wide range of applications from passenger transport to special-purpose applications as per requirements. A vehicle’s design, structure, system integration and it’s, various parameters and the arrangement of various systems, subsystems and components can be developed as per specific regulations or requirements. This chapter presents the basic vehicle terminology, construction of the vehicle, a review of its systems and subsystems, chassis components and their structural requirements and different layout of vehicle and their pros and cons.
