ABSTRACT
In this chapter, some decomposition images are displayed to show how the surface-scattering power is useful for disaster monitoring, such as volcano eruption, tsunami disaster, accumulated snow in mountain, and land slide detection. It may be applicable for rice crop monitoring. Deforestation or detection of a clear-cut open area is another important application. Typical scatterers are bare soil surfaces, mud and landslide areas, crop fields, rice paddy fields, volcano ash-covered areas, small grassland, snow-covered areas, and snow and ice fields. According to target characteristics, the surface-scattering power and auxiliary parameter will serve the purpose.
