ABSTRACT
It is important to both model mathematically and to be able to put models into practice. This chapter encourages an active approach by having mathematical models leading directly into reproducible numerical implementations. Linear programming is introduced with a recurring manufacturing example. The manufacturing example is then solved graphically and with R. Linear programming special cases are demonstrated.
