ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book is to prepare the audience for the new perspective in a practical way, it puts the vision about the entire experience of several years using systems approach to solve problems and create new opportunities for new systems in the commercial aviation scope. It addresses, for example, safety, cybersecurity, architecture, and design decisions. The book explores cognitive bias as a cause of accidents. It includes a discussion about important accidents and tries to connect those biases through new perspective about the accidents. Lower-level requirements are the result of flow down and derivation of requirements at lower levels of the aircraft hierarchy. The requirements database that results from the parts requirements analysis is a major deliverable for the certification of the aircraft.
