ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 focuses on the concept of validity. We first provide an overview of different sources of validity evidence. We then describe statistical methods and analyses which may help to provide proofs of test validity using external variables: Inferences based on ratios, t-tests, analysis of variance, correlation coefficients, and linear regression models. Next, we focus on parameter estimation methods, model fit and the issue of range restriction.
