ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with initiatives for Industry 4.0, which are in widespread use in developing countries such as India, wherein the identification of designs, products and deliveries is also a part of this study. The chapter focuses on the concept of Industry 4.0, which should play a key role in understanding and tackling a business. Even though the concept has tremendous advantages, its practical application presents considerable difficulties. This chapter, by means of an extensive literature study, considers nearly eighteen key challenges involved in dealing with such limitations. The analysis was mainly done from a consideration of nearly 100 responses obtained from different Indian manufacturing sectors following the execution of a detailed survey. This chapter analyzed and revealed four key challenges: organizational, technological, strategic and legal/ethical issues.
