ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on post-analysis issues. Such issues involve the writing of effective recommendations, how to ensure they get implemented and when they are implemented, how do we know they worked? If we are not successful in this phase of the investigation, all the effort put into the analysis was for nothing. During this phase, we really must take off our technical hats and put on our marketing and sales hats. At this point, we are selling to leadership our desire for them to spend money on our Root Cause Analysis (RCA) recommendations, and in doing that, we must make a convincing business case in order to be successful. We focus here on writing the report and preparing and presenting a powerful final presentation to the powers-that-be.
