Introduces Artificial Intelligence and covers techniques that constitute AI and maps AI to classical Machine Learning (ML) techniques. From computing history point of view, this chapter covers “waves of compute” and presents market adoptions of AI through 2017–2019 Gartner Hype cycles. The chapter concludes with AI for the social good.
