ABSTRACT
Random activities constitute the backbone of the theory of probability. An experiment or trial is an activity that can lead to one of several results. Each potential result is called an outcome, observation, sample, or datum. The set of all outcomes is known as the outcome space and is denoted by the symbol Ω The outcome space is also called the sample space or data space.
