ABSTRACT
The field of statistics deals with the analysis of data and the generation of plausible inferences. The discipline may be broadly classified into two areas: exploration and inference. Exploration refers to the informal evaluation of a set of data that are regarded as characteristics of some population. In contrast, inference pertains to more formal procedures for deducing results from complete or partial data sets.
