ABSTRACT
Spatial information refers to data that take space coordinates as their reference system. Nowadays observing the earth's surface from above, and the information superhighway, provide a vast amount of information that urgently needs to be analyzed, manipulated, simulated and managed, so that mankind can understand and grasp temporal-spatial processes and the functioning of the earth and of society.
