ABSTRACT
Besides a very restricted number of primary external and internal criteria suitable for determination, some general morphogenetical data are given, so that from this chapter the reader can also obtain a brief, but general survey of development. The primary stage criteria have been placed between ** and the various organ systems have been printed in italics. The ages mentioned in the table have been determined approximately on the basis of development at a temperature of 22–24° C under laboratory conditions.
