ABSTRACT
In this chapter a survey of the machine systems will be given which are used in the production of films, film tapes, film yarns, and film fibers. In addition, the machinery necessary for the manufacture of film tape or film fiber products will be shortly reviewed. Due to the limited size of this book, however, the discussion of these subjects will have to be restricted to the basic principles to be applied for proper equipment selection. Construction details of individual machines offered on the market cannot be described thoroughly. However, it is intended to give the less experienced reader practical recommendations which may help him when confronted with tasks connected with the manufacture of film tapes, film fibers, or products derived therefrom.
