ABSTRACT
12.1 In this chapter we present the theory of analytic functions based on the Weierstrass approach, and study the principle of analytic continuation. As we remarked in 9.9, the Weierstrass viewpoint of analytic functions is more general than the Cauchy viewpoint and unifies both real and complex cases in its development. We shall devote a later chapter to their equivalence in the complex case.
