ABSTRACT
Since the early 1950's reliability has become a significant performance measure. With the increase in technical complexity and the escalating costs of labor and material, unreliable products have a high cost of ownership. It is very important to have a product that works as 234designed when needed. Thus, nearly all designers must be concerned with the art and science of producing reliable products.
