Applications of electron spectroscopic techniques to the studies of liquid metals and liquid alloys are expected to bring about fruitful results, as stressed by Evans [1], The electron spectroscopic techniques coupled with ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) techniques enable us to monitor and to remove the surface contamination.
