ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a case study of in-house acceptance specification problems with a solution. The purpose is to specify a standard format for the presentation of quality assurance final acceptance specifications, the type of information that may be included in them, and guidance about the parts of the specification into which the various kinds of information are to be included. It is usually the case that a customers' requirement is met by selection from an existing standard component. When this is so, the type number of the standard component is to be given in full. Customer specifications occasionally call up requirements, or request the use of procedures, which the company does not normally provide. Invariably, a component that is to be selected out for any requirement from any standard or other special selection component must be identified in such a way that it cannot be confused with any other component.
