ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a case study of control procedure for procurement specifications. It extends the series of controls as widely as possible over the various specification systems. This procedure has been prepared to ensure that control is exercised over the preparation of procurement specifications for the company by procurement specification control. By the exercise of this control it is expected that the company procurement specifications will benefit to some extent—and more importantly, that the company’s technological image will be enhanced for both suppliers and customers. It is also anticipated that as a result of the operation of this control, there will be a significant reduction in lost costs. These are the costs which would ordinarily be incurred in making unnecessary amendments to procurement specifications to match the capabilities and inclinations of suppliers.
