ABSTRACT

This chapter details the operational procedure that was developed to overcome the problem concerning a large company handling many customer specifications. In a smaller company a much less complex solution would suffice. The chapter provides a procedure for the control of customer specifications. This procedure provides a sound base from which other, simpler solutions can be developed for different sets of circumstances. All customer specifications are to be dealt with according to this procedure except those which are clearly of draft status, have no identifying number, and are clearly intended for preliminary discussion purposes only.
