ABSTRACT

The computerized safety data system (CSDS) is becoming a reality and it is important to keep management up to date. The information phase of the CSDS development is important. It keeps management up to date and reminded about the CSDS. During development, several presentations can be made at different times. For example, a slide showing an outline of the database record and a slide depicting one or two files to show progress. From a review of the case files it became quite clear that records going back 3 years might be useful. That meant that as many as 1950 case records had the potential to be entered into the system, providing an excellent start on the CSDS database. This chapter suggests that trials with actual data will follow the tests by the data systems people for debugging of program and other trials to ensure that the system will operate correctly.
