ABSTRACT

This chapter explores to introduce an efficient way to predict sources of serious harm. In conjunction with the work activities, most likely to be sources of serious harm, we have said that a high energy source must be present to cause the main event: a serious injury. The chapter discusses a plan to use the theory in a practical approach that is designed so that the department manager and the supervisors can make an effective analysis and develop controls for their serious injury sources in their own department area. To emphasize the potential for serious harm in as many tasks as possible, the computerized safety data system can be searched for all cases. Prediction of serious injury sources is a practical and useful approach. This system, which is currently being used at one company, can be used by other companies to gain the same benefits.
