ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the example computerized safety data system (CSDS) in detail and sees how the software is arranged to meet the design criteria. It puts the complete design together as it was programmed for use in our example. To complete readers understanding of how the example CSDS works let’s review each function. This will give they the detail information of what each function does and how the screens are designed. Data entry on the Case Entry Screen is designed in such a way as to reduce the potential for typographical error. The example CSDS uses menus from which selections can be made. Regular reports are report formats that the CSDS already is programmed to produce. The user need only to tell the CSDS the range of dates to use, enter the organization names and department titles readers want and the reports will be produced for them.
