ABSTRACT
Distillation is the most important process that is available today for separating liquid mixtures. It is used to purify liquid products in chemical manufacturing, wine and liquor production, petroleum refining, and in the pharmaceutical industries, among many others. Its particular use in waste minimization is for recovery of used oils and solvents for recycling. It is also widely used for removal of undesirable toxic or hazardous materials from waste streams before their disposal.
