ABSTRACT

In an analogous way one can analyze the flyby heliocentric trajectories to other planets – to Mars, Venus, etc. The duration of the flight of the apparatus through the sphere of action of Venus can vary within wide limits; this fact can essentially modify the return Hohmann trajectory, as well as the total duration of the Earth–Venus–Earth flight. In all the interplanetary flight orbits, in particular, Hohmann-type ellipses and multiplanetary flight trajectories, the question concerns the orbits determined essentially by the gravitational action of the Sun. In fact, a speeding up of the spacecraft takes place as a result of its flight through the sphere of action. The perturbative maneuver with the help of Mars in the period of flight of the apparatus through its sphere of action is insufficient in power to direct the apparatus towards the center of the Solar system in general.
