ABSTRACT

Anxieties are cowards and can often be vanquished merely by confronting them. Some of the more common sources of anxiety are listed below. Looking a fool, making a mistake, omitting something of importance and being unable to answer questions. It is of little comfort to realize that many of these anxieties are both irrational and unlikely to occur. Many students mistakenly believe that a pronounced regional or national accent will be a handicap when they are talking about their project. Members of staff who are used to proof reading and marking examination scripts are very adept at locating these errors, particularly when they occur on slides or transparencies. One of the most important differences between the two is the combination of the experimental and results sections in the lecture. Visual aids enliven any lecture provided that they are relevant and legible to the back row of the audience.
