ABSTRACT

For dips, yogurt can do almost anything sour cream can do; yet, plain yogurt will be thinner and less viscous than sour cream, so it might need some kind of thickener. The Chiles Con Queso dip is an outstanding opener to a Mexican dinner, as is the Guatemalan Guacamole or Spanish Black Bean Dip. Egyptian Fava Beans, which makes two dozen fried cakes, is popular with young and old alike. It’s always a good idea to have pita bread around, anyway. A number of sauces are also included, notably Bombay Curry Sauce, Creole Sauce, and Dill-icious Swedish Sauce. Polynesian Pineapple is quite a conversation piece-a scooped out pineapple shell filled with a scrumptious yogurt concoction that is served with wheat crackers and celery sticks.
