The effective dose from a 201Tl myocardial perfusion scan is one of the highest in diagnostic imaging and roughly equates to 3 barium enemas. c. The uptake of 201Tl relies solely on regional myocardial perfusion. d. 201Tl is a Na+ analogue. e. 201Tl remains irreversibly fixed to the myocardium within a few minutes of injection.
