Albert Finial, evolutionary psychologist, has been approached in strict confidence by the Vice-Chancellor of red-brick Teddingham university, who wants to strengthen the Psychology department there. ‘But honestly, the faculty list doesn’t inspire too much confidence,’ he reflects to himself, as he considers his options. ‘What are they really doing?’
