ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses simple regression analysis considering more than one independent variable and hence, this analysis can be termed as Multiple Linear Regression Model (MLRM). So, MLRM is a linear model that describes, how a Y-variable relates to two or more X variables. The general purpose of MLRM is to learn more about the relationship between several explanatory or independent or predictor variables and a dependent or criterion variable. The chapter explores the linear relationship between a dependent variable and two or more independent variables. Like Simple Linear Regression Model, MLRM is also based on OLS method and the model is considered best fit, when the sum of squares of differences of observed and estimated values is minimized i.e., ESS is minimum.
