ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the systems engineering management planning activities and the artifacts. It gives an overview of systems engineering management planning based on the view of the SEBoK and the systems engineering management plan that consists of multiple plans that are important to the planning efforts throughout the Vee life cycle model. Configuration management is a critical part of designing and developing a system, because it controls the information that is used to build the system, through the Vee life cycle model. Two definitions of configuration management include: the configuration management deals with managing changes across the life cycle of a product. The contractor management plan will vary based on the infrastructure already existing in the organization for the contract management. Data management planning develops an approach for developing the data requirements, collecting, validating, storing, and maintaining data used in the system.
