ABSTRACT
The way of student thinking is detrimental to their learning in this “safe” environment of the university setting but can be catastrophic when the same engineers actually design a system in the real world. The process architecture provides the key elements used within a process or system. The traditional process map shows the sequence of activities performed by “actors” or roles within a system. The process map can be used to document the current “as is” process or a future state or “to be” process to designate the process after it is implemented or improved. A process is a sequence of activities with the purpose of getting work done. Use cases are a way to elicit and organize requirements from a user’s perspective. All the requirements for a user to accomplish a particular function are gathered together in a single use case.
