ABSTRACT

Analysis of the world and domestic trends in the use of roof-bolts in the structure of fastening systems in mine workings has shown the expansion in the area and in the volume of application of traditional resin-grouted roof bolts and rope bolts combination for strengthening the roof rocks as an independent support, as well as in a combination with other types of standing supports. The edge area of the coal seam in the preparatory mine workings is the most complex multifactorial object of geomechanical processes. Therefore, it seems expedient to assess the degree of influence of the roof-bolt strengthening on the mechanism of structural transformation of the roof rocks in the preparatory mine working. It has been determined by means of analytical, numerical and experimental research methods that in the sides of the mine working, the increased rock pressure weakens a certain volume of soft rocks, which increases their mobility.
