ABSTRACT

A universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter is used for asynchronous serial communication. A device, the universal synchronous and asynchronous receiver-transmitter (USART), also supports synchronous operation. The universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) takes bytes of data and communicates the bits in a sequential fashion. This chapter discusses the interfacing of devices in UART with 8051 and NuttyFi. Ultrasonic module has specification of working on UART. Ultrasonic module comprises of +12V power supply, +12V to +5V converter, 8051 microcontroller, 16x2 LCD, and UART. DHT is very basic temperature and humidity sensor. The DHT sensors are made of two parts, a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor. The digital signal is fairly easy to read using any microcontroller.
