ABSTRACT

Alkali-activated composites are formed when an alkaline activator solution is mixed with an aluminosilicate/calcium-rich material such as fly ash, slag, etc., to produce different forms of alkali-activated composites through polymerization. Alkali-activated binder systems are gaining a lot of traction currently and are being seen as an alternative sustainable green binder system. Alkali-activated composites use industrial waste as a source material, thus saving natural resources as well as providing an effective waste management system. These composites have been used extensively in various industries through numerous commercial applications.
