ABSTRACT

Results of detailed systematic experimental investigations on blended (fly Ash + blast furnace slag) alkali-activated composites (AACs) in the fresh and hardened states have been presented and scientifically interpreted, to have a deeper understanding of the influence of Na2O, SiO2, water/binder ratio, curing temperature, curing duration, and fineness of particles on physico-mechanical properties and microstructure as well as their preparation and characterization. For characterization of blended AACs, mineralogical/microstructure/elemental analysis, and pore structure studies have been carried out, using scanning electron microscopy/X-ray diffraction/energy dispersive X-ray/Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy/thermogravimetric analysis, and mercury intrusion porosimetry techniques, for better understanding.
