ABSTRACT

Results of detailed systematic experimental investigations on blended (fly Ash + blast furnace slag) alkali-activated composites (AACs) in the hardened state exposed to elevated temperature, acids, and sulfate solutions have been presented and scientifically interpreted, to have a deeper understanding of the influence of different synthesis parameters on durability and microstructure. Mineralogical/microstructure/elemental analysis and pore structure studies have been also carried out, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/X-ray diffraction (XRD)/energy dispersive X-ray (EDAX)/Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR)/thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) techniques, for better understanding.
