While no one prescribed course of action or set of techniques can guarantee results, there are time- and field-tested principles and practices that apply in most situations. Understanding them can save you time and give you confidence in your plans and actions. Some principles and practices apply to all situations, while others may be classified by type of communication, specifically precaution advocacy, outrage management, or crisis communication. Still others may be organized by methods and channels of communication.
